OT: The whole situation with Warhammer Online still makes me angry to this day. It was such a good game and I enjoyed it. Though, I wish it didn't have battlegrounds and stuck to just RvR.

I loved Warhammer Online as well! Still miss that game. My Zealot Revnant was awesome...

It failed for the same reason all these mmorpg's fail..........not enough endgame content to keep people around.......I don't see why companies don't get that.

Make that three of us. Warhammer Online, in my mind, is still conceptually the best MMO of all-time. Unfortunately, the game on paper and in reality are two separate things. It was tragically disappointing.

I really have to question the move to go F2P on this. 1 million people is 15 million USD a month, and the biggest problem people have with the game now is lack of end-game content. So what does EA do? Lay-off people. rolleyes.gif

If they would have sticked it out and been willing to take a few months of not-fantastic profit they could have turned around the game and make it much more succesfull than it looks like it will be.

I wanna give this a try. But i have a few questions.

1) how long is the single player campaign?
2) Do you need to play multiplayer to get to the final boss battle.

Totally agree. WAR was so much fun - except the fact that it played like you had a 2000 ping. I loved the RvR, and I actually didn't mind the BGs or whatever they were called.

It's not really a single player campaign. You exist in a multiplayer world where you participate in a quest chain related to your primary class that lasts until level 50. There are 8 storylines total, 4 for each faction.

I personally did the Sith Warrior campaign and enjoyed it. It had some decent plot twists, even if some of the characters were incredibly predictable and 1 sided. I couldn't get myself into another storyline after that though, nothing really grabbed my interest.

I read this article earlier this morning and my opinion, @5 hours later, still hasn't changed.

Going FTP is not a death sentence...In fact, it's proven that games that go FTP make more money then their PTP counterparts...

If anything, this isn't a bad omen for the game...It's EA's way of saying "We want more money and you'll give it to us if the game is free"...

So, go-go EA on clever marketing...
