limited connection or no connectivity error help please..

Hello guys, please help me, am begging you...
i started having this stupid problem after i built my first computer, in my old computer it was all fine, am using an ethernet cable between my pc and laptop, it is crossed or whatever its called, when i plug it in it gievs me an error, limited connection or no connectivity which pisses me off, i dont know how to fix it, it was all good on my old computer.. i have all the drivers installed everything is up to date..
sometimes it connects, but after 10 mins it disconnects again, and sometimes it works fine until i reboot my pc..

are you having problems connecting to the router?

or is your laptop connected through wifi and your trying to share the connection with your desktop?

i dident think that was even possible
if you can i would just get a wireless card for the desktop
or roll out some CAT5

in this retarded country where i live, nothing is here, but i might get this D-Link Wireless N 150 Desktop Adapter http://www.microchoix.ma/fiche-140253-D_Link_Wireless_N_150_Desktop_Adapter.html is it better than a USB dongle? am currently using it and its bad, the signal is low and keeps time outing. and also, i have only pcie 16x and am using it for my gpu, and i have another pci x1 i guess, can i use it there,
but please can anyone tell me how to fix this error? it was working fine on my old pc
