Just make sure you don't open the freezer while the rig is on (or recently on) and that should work right? Or would the heat from the components, themselves, cause condensation regardless of whether or not the freezer is open?

exactly what I was just going to post about and had occurred to me while getting the tape measure was condensation.

My wife asked what I was doing and she really does not like this idea, she may be right too if condensation is an issue

all I know is if I can safely put my computer in a box thats 0C or less ambient temperature and nothing bad is going to happen I just might have to do it...

The problem with silent watercooling is that the pump and HDDs will usually making some really annoying noises. HDDs are easy to eliminate but the pump is harder. Of course you could try and move the pump to another room with long tubing or something.

Also yeah, PC in a fridge wont work unless the fridge is a really heavy duty non-consumer version. The compressor will break. Some people still use compressors, like I do with phase change (evap at -45C on idle *grin* ) but they're really loud most of the time. Mine for example is louder than my GPU on air is.

Hahaha I knew this was a bad idea it just sounded so awesome, I figured the easiest way to rule it out was to measure and see if the freezer was big enough which it is. Yea im too worried about condensation to do this. I think I'm just gonna have to move my PC down to the basement instead where it is alot cooler in the summer.

If you read my earlier post, my idea is to isolate the pump in it's own acrylic box made out of thick acrylic and put a lot of dampening material on all the sides on the inside. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't hear it at all.

The first time I moved from a laptop to a desktop I though my hard drive was exploding, but no, that's just what 3.5 inch drives sound like. It's the loudest thing in my computer until the GPU fans kick in. Next build I'm definitely going full SSD instead of SSD + HDD combo.

I can't go into too much detail, but I can say a device that was running up to 60-70C was not having condensation issues while in a room that was roughly 20C. There is plenty of humidity in the air so I am curious. My head hurts when I go in circles like this.

What I want to know is whether or no you can de-humidify the inside of the freezer to a point that condensation doesn't occur. Remove the moisture from the air, remove the condensation, right? probably not but I can still dream. Technically, condensation shouldn't be an issue as long as the air is clean. What if we take note from the extreme cooling section and just liquid electrical tape the crap out of all of our components? Throw some eraser on there.. some neoprene.. good to go? I'm just spitting out ideas. I feel like there has to be a way this can be done.

How do data centers keep servers in rooms that are cooled to below 50F without having condensation issues?

The problem with freezers or fridges isn't condensation, you can protect against that, everyone who uses a sub zero setup knows that. The problem is the compressor that doesn't handle a 24/7 heat load.
