Why waste your time with PT Nuke in the first place? Leave it out of your loop and your worries leave with it.

Well... because there is so much discussion about what is best to put in your loop. Distilled/purified water is a given, but there seems to be mix of people either using a kill coil or PT Nuke, so I was unsure. But based on that testing, I'm sticking with just a kill coil for now.

Distilled water is rarely ever exactly pH of 7.0

I have both the paper strip pH testers as well as a submersible meter (have a 55 gallon fish aquarium) and typically I see the numbers of distilled water in the 6.3 to 7.1 range.

It is usually more acidic than basic.

I've never used any sort of biocide or preventative and I have never ever had a single problem.

I've ran loops for up to 14 months with just distilled water or a coloured coolant and I've never had any sort of algae build up.

Isn't the point of PT Nuke or a kill coil to make the water acid anyway so that there won't be any living beings in it?

Not exactly. Both PT Nuke (copper sulfate pentahydrate RC), and a silver wire both let off ions that interrupt organic life/reproduction cycles. The intent isn't to necessarily drastically alter the pH, it is to break up the life cycles.
