The asus claims to have a greater brightness and is wall mountable, maybe if you want a dual - triple monitor stand? The asus has a height/tilt and swivel stand where the Samsung is only tilt.

On the Samsungs side its more energy efficient and has a thinner bezel.

Neither is better, both do things the other doesn't. These reviews should help you decide:

Look at the samsung monitor on the right. There's these pulsing faint black bars going from down to up the screen. Is that normal? And why does it do that? Will I get that if I get the screen?

That's normal when a screen is videotaped. It has something to do with the refresh rate and the framerate of the video, kind of like when a wheel appears to be turning backwards when it's recorded going forward. Nothing to worry about, and you won't see it in real life.

Thanks man. Thanks everyone. I will be getting the samsung tomorrow. Even though as it seems the Asus is slightly better, I found the samsung here 74$ dollars cheaper.
