Ok recently upgraded from a his vturbo 5870 to a gigabyte 7970 oc windforce and decided to clean out my drivers and do a fresh install as didn't want any problems. Used the normal method as explained on the amd website and installed CCC 12.4, also running msi afterburner 2.2.2. all working fine. Then decided to update drivers to 12.7 beta using normal method all working fine. Then decided i would do a clean driver install just incase anything from my 5870 days was still lingering about and also update to msi afterburner 2.2.3. Ok decided this time to use the method as described by BradleyW all went well cleaned out all the mentioned files and reg entries, also uninstalled afterburner at the same time. Booted machine up and installed 12.7 beta's fine overdrive tab present but as soon as i installed afterburner 2.2.3 and then went to CCC overdrive and enabled overdrive tab disappeared. Luckly i had made a restore point before doing all this so went back and restored to 12.7beta but my previous installation. My question is does bradleyW's method take out too much or does amd not like us using afterburner, both are currently existing on my machine at present. O/S Win 7 64bit home P.
