So if KMS is a localhost issue, the comment you made is about a M$ owned server or what? I'm not a fan of piracy, but I find it interesting how these activation "hacks" even work. Rather I can't understand how it's possible.

I can tell you about this because I did it....the ability to install over your current OS is fantastic and its right from the desktop. One of the best and easiest OS formats I have ever used. It brings everything over for you or you can have t wipe the entire drive. Its fast, simple and easy...but becuase it has Metro something like this was overlooked by the anti-metro fanboys....

There not private, they are hosted in countries that MS can't easily get too. I guess the current status is that they have been going on for almost the entire life of Win Vista/7. The only way to get this out would probably be to end KMS. Currently the KMS server is supposed to be registered directly with MS, if that isn't the case then there is a much bigger issue than OEM activation.
