Kubuntu 12.04 64-bit issues with my Sony GDM-F900 CRT monitor: Keeps shutting off signal.

I recently put together a computer to use for Kubuntu, I am passed any install issues I had.. Now it's onto an issue with my monitor.

Now when I ran the system under 32-bit Kubuntu, I had no issues running my CRT with or with out ATI drivers. However, now the system deactivates my monitor, but when I plug a 17" Dell LCD in, it doesn't do this. With or with out ATI drivers. (Live Ubuntu 64-bit install disc did this too).

Is there anyway I can fix this issue? I am running an ATI Radeon HD3870 with a DVI to VGA adapter for either monitor.

which catalyst driver version are you using. I would try to uninstall the drivers entirely and reinstall a later version

12.6

However it did this before I even installed the catalyst drivers. x86 Kubuntu never did this to me with my CRT, so I am stumped on this.
