Problem over 2GB of memory.

Hello

I have a strange problem, see whether it can help me with it.

My computer works perfectly if I put 2GB of RAM, if I put 4GB blue screen launches. It's basically that.

Everything was fine, buy a new video card when I put it was discovered that heating the processor, remove the processor to clean and lower the heat and, right there, began the problem of memory

That is, that my motherboard is an ASUS P7P55 LX

Any help to solve this, or I have to buy another motherboard?

regards

try one stick in each slot, then try the next stick in each slot.

Xinoxide:
Try everything and no way. Try with two 2GB and each port and nothing, try a 4GB and available ports and nothing.

are you also able to tell what type of memory you are using, and if the memory you are trying to add are any different

I'm not sure what you mean by the first section. Have you tried each of the sticks in each of the slots? Also you can look into trying a different set of RAM if you have some available. Do you have a link for which exact set of RAM you have? I had a similar problem and it ended up being that I needed to up the DRAM voltage a notch. Having that extra stick of RAM in there may be the reason you are getting the instability.

[edit]
Also what language do you speak? I speak Spanish which might make things a bit easier.

I had a similar problem with my 775 motherboard, it might be worth a try because I tried everything I could and actually was running 2 gb for about a month. Try blowing out the dimms real good with some canned air.

Try to keep it in English but yes I believe it is in voltage (I reread the TOS). The issue with the voltage is that it is typically done automatically. I'm glad you have that board because I actually have the Asus P7P55D-E Pro which should have a similar bios. Upon starting the computer press delete to enter the bios. Go to "Ai Tweaker" which should be the second tab. At that point all of the overclocking stuff will show up. for this case I would look at the DRAM Frequency. You want that to be as close to 1600 as you can. This is done by pressing the + and - buttons to get it there. If you can't get it exactly on there then select the option that is just below 1600. From there continue down to the part that says DRAM Timing Control. Press enter to go to a new window. For your RAM you want it set for 9-9-9-24. Those numbers correspond to the first four rows. Once that is set press esc to go to the previous window. Continue scrolling down to where you see DRAM Voltage. It will probably be set to Auto. Press the + button until it is set to 1.65. After that press F10 to save the settings and reboot. Do this all with 2gb of RAM in. Once that is done shut down the computer completely, remove the power plug, hold down the on button (drains the capacitors) and then install the second stick of RAM into the same colored slot so that you have the two RAM sticks in the same colored slots. Start your computer and see if it works.

Hello

I have news.

I tried exactly what you said and nothing. When windows is booting blue screen launches and relaunches.

Bone, I put the settings in the "Ai Tweaker" and then place both memories and nothing.

Now, I started to try and discover new things.

1. By placing the memory (1x2gb) in the second blue harbor, blue screen launches the PC.

2. If I put a 4GB memory at the first port (which seems to be working well) and put the place settings in the "Ai Tweaker" blue screen launches when windows start.

3. If I put 4GB memory and leave the default settings, the pc up and it works fine until an unexpected moment throws the blue screen.

Any other suggestions?
