Acrylic PSU shield?

Hey guys, im new to the forums but definitely not new to modding things for the better! I recently finished my antec 300 case, and have been quite lazy about modding it... With all of this "Lazy" I figured I would do some hole drilling etc etc next weekend (going to be gone this weekend)...
BUT the real reason im actually posting is I REALLY want a PSU shield? something to cover it that bends 90 degrees...
I took some measurements and came up with this.
.25"x10x17 bent 90* @ 6"

Hmm.. Any ideas on this? Can anyone do this for the right price? or recommendations on how to do it?

Im sorry if this isnt in the right thread as I figure it would be... Since its modding.. But ehh.

Thanks in advance!

I was thinking, bent one time @ 90* running from the back of the case to the front (im taking out the HDD's and welding in a panel over where they used to go. (not covering it slightly above it im thinking.)

From what I've seen acrylic and aluminum work about the same. The key for acrylic is to heat the acrylic so that it is pliable and from there you want to bend it over a mold. Make sure you don't crack it when bending and also don't over heat it so that it begins to completely melt. Aluminum is a bit more forgiving as it will be a bit more difficult to melt and to bend. For aluminum you want to heat it as well since it will scramble the molecules and make it more flexible. From there you do the same process and bend it over a mold. Your mold can be pretty much anything. I would recommend just doing it over the edge of a piece of wood so that you get the right 90 degree shape.

[edit]
If you are looking to put a design into it or something then you have two main options. You can get someone who has access to a CNC machine that can cut the shapes out or you can do it manually. This can be done with a drill and a jig saw. It is more tedious and you will have to file down the edges so it doesn't stay jagged.

+rep Thank you very much!

Me an my dad do quite a bit of body work on bmw's so i'm thinking aluminum is becoming a better idea..
Its becoming foreseeable now, im thinking a aluminum bent 90* with 2/3 nuts/ bolts, on the bottom of it.. Hmm.. Thank you this is becoming much clearer in my head now.

That's pretty much all there is to it. Once you have the shield in the correct shape just find a way to bolt it down. I would say flare out the bottom about 3/4" and then bolt it to the bottom. Since there won't be any strain on it you could get away with just using two bolts on the side closest to the side panel. I would say get it so that it is flat on the top and lies perpendicular to the motherboard plate. In order to eliminate vibrations you could line the edge with some rubber u-channel. Here is a quick paint drawing of what I have in mind. The top left shows the side angle that you would see when opening the side panel. The right drawing would be what you would see if you looked from the very front of the tower. The bottom drawing is an overhead look of it. Granted this is just a MS Paint drawing the dimensions are way off but you get the general idea.

I believe 1/8" is about what most people use. Don't quote me on that though.
