Why is deciding on a case so damn hard? - Page 2

I am a huge fan of NZXT and I only by NZXT cases (Oh and did I mention that I only by White cases) Anyways I love the Phantom Series. I have x2 NZXT Phantom 410s as of right now both white with Blue trim.

I just keep looking at them and for 10 minutes I'll like one more than the other.. then an hour late i like the other more lol. It's just hard deciding on something i'll have to look at everyday.

I currently have a switch 810 and it is going back. I feel like the build quality is terrible, especially on the top vents, and am upgrading to a Tj07. Ive done one build in a corsair case (600t) and loved it. Heard nothing but good things about their cases. Personally though I would stay away from the Switch. Roomy and has some good features, but fan controller is cheap and mine came with only half of them working. Really felt like poor build quality overall IMO.

Oh man I am just like you OP. Sadly case is what I researched most out of all my components. And I still switched it for a 4th time now in a year and finally landed on the switch 810. My original case was a 650d. Great case. You wouldn't be unhappy with it. I will say you may be slightly disappointed with the shinobi XL as it is more of a budget case. They sure look great though.

I would say you cannot go wrong with any corsair case. Amazing quality.

Build quality on Case Labs is second to none but I dunno, they are massive and crazy expensive, especially with all of the customization options. Considered a M8 instead of a TJ07 but went with the TJ07 due to price of case labs once I started playing with all of the features. I still kinda want one though biggrin.gif The SMH 10 is just plain sexy.

Are you going to water cool? If not, go with either the 650D or CM Storm Trooper. I've never owned the 650D, but I've had the 800D and LOVED it. Its not great for airflow though, so the 650D is a better choice. I am currently rocking the Storm Trooper and I really love it. I cant wait to get my sleeving in and my wire so I can go nuts on cable management to make it look real fancy. I also have the Switch 810 and I don't like it. The build quality is not great, although the customer support is top notch. The 810 is for water cooling, and makes any air cooled rig look strange inside it.

Exactly. That was the best case I had ever laid eyes on. I had to settle. Still extremely happy though.

For me it's really hard, not that i have too many to choose from that i like, but there is almost no case that i like. I do not count CaseLabs, Mountain Mods or similar cases, they are really nice. The only one or two cases i really like on the market today is the Silverstone Temjin TJ-07 and Lian Li PC-a77FB, i own the last of them and it's not perfect either.

The big word in the case market today seems to be "mainstream", i see many many cases which are basically the same design, 8 HDD's 2 5.25" bays. The only thing that differs is the small deference on the outside. The only makers that still goes their own way imo is corsair, silverstone and sometime lian li. Where did the antec P series go which was first with different sections, P280 is just mainstream.

But everyone has their taste, i just don't find any cases that interesting any more as i did maybe 3-4 years ago, where there was so many cases i wanted i couldn't count them. thumb.gif
