G80 waterblock compatability.

Thread Starter
I am thinking of upgrading to the 8800GTS or 8800GTX. However, before it even enters my mind, I want to know if my MCW60 will fit on the 8800 series cards...

I have not paid that much attention to the launch of these cards. I am not going to get one right away. I will probably watch the price closely and pick one up after the initial excitement is gone and holiday price cuts / deals are in effect. What are the MSRP for these cards? I know the 8800GTX is around $650. What about the 8800GTS... Are there any more mainstream cards coming out?

The DX10 and SM4.0 support on these cards is essentially useless until Vista comes out... right?

I thought Nvidia was releasing 8800GTX water cooled cards soon after the release of the 8800.

Remember the first photo's with the water block.

I was wondering this myself and it seems that they will not fit, with the mcw60 though I think it would be easy enough to cut a new flimsy top plate for it with the right dimensions, with a drill and jigsaw
