The basic operating principle of the so-called loop rotor was researched by Dr. Rudolf Bannasch bionics and developed. The application was subsequently carried out by implementing Noiseblocker. The basis for this was a research commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Research and Technology. The task contains more applied research with the ultimate goal of development of the quietest fans of the IT world.

Interesting we will soon see how it preforms. A bit costly, 18€ for a fan to me isn't worth it unless it could push a crazy amount of air at a very low noise level, which we will never see.

Notice how the 2nd graph stops at 1200 rpm, so what happens to the fan when it is spinning at 2000+RPM? My guess it sounds like any other fan....Loud biggrin.gif.

im waiting on what the aircraft industry already has a multi-pitch blade.
we'd use it like:
under temperature usage, the high temp would angle the blade deeper for
more flow and when temp is achived, they would recede to a flatter pitch.
the flatter pitch then could aid in noise canceing.

in the boating industry we used standard prop shapes, until a design was
pushed for higher rpm and deep pitch props called "chopper props". the
design also deflected "wash or eddie" current that devlope on steep pitch
blade angles.

the "rosette" design on the outter perimeter could also incorporate a pitch
to follow the streaming gaps in between the blades. the gaps are also
noise generators. the hoop can fill the gap with an air-energy and cancel
the osilation in between the blades.

This will definitely be interesting. I have 14 NB Multiframe M12-S2 fans and I love the silence. I think it will be hard to top those fans, as NB already has some excellenty performing material, but lets see. tongue.gif

I read the first post and it did not have the static pressure info. All it shows is the air flow measurements. But thanks anyway.
