So I was at my parents house taking a HDD from an old computer to reuse.

This will be the 4th computer setup this hard drive has been used in.

A tank of a drive. Only had two WD sata drives ever die on me. Like 8 Seagate and a Hitachi.

Still got a couple ancient IDE WD hard drives I still use to back my PS3 up with.

This is my first run with a Samsung.

I only use WD after I went Seagate on my first build and it crashed on me a month in. 7200.11 was the worst thing ever for me.

WD drives are great, they are usually my first choice of drives and the same goes for a friend of mine.

My roommate freshman year of University had a Seagate in his Dell, it died in a couple of months, and I told him to replace it with a WD and it's still rocking out to this day.

I buy WD whenever I can. First thing I did with my laptop when I bought it 4 years ago was buy a WD Scorpio (Black) and use the original drive as an external. I've got like 4 extra HDD from 05 and earlier (2 SATA and 2 IDE), all WD, all work perfectly to this day.

Now, my brother built a computer (with my help) using a Seagate, and that was almost 2 years ago and it still works fine, so it's not like WD is the only company worth anything -- I just have seen higher fail rates with non-WDs than with WDs.
