New headset wont play sound in chrome

Hey guys,

I just got a new headset the plantronics 780 and it wont play chrome sounds... Eg no sound will come out of the headset when i watch youtube vids in chrome but i can hear sound if i watch a vid in internet explorer. The odd thing is i can hear chrome sounds when I use my older headset or speakers. I've already uninstalled/reinstalled chrome and flash player multiple times, also rebooted a couple times.

tl;dr no sound from chrome in new headset
