Hey all,
I just installed a Samsung 830 128GB SSD into my system, and upon first looks, I was really impressed by it. Now that I've loaded Windows 7 Ultimate, a few programs, and Battlefield 3, (~50% loaded) I've noticed that the boot time has gotten slower, from 10 seconds to ~25 seconds. Is it the AMD chipset, or is it just Windows 7 Ultimate?

I checked msconfig and the only programs that I run at start are the Realtek HD Audio, Google Update, USB 3.0 Monitor, CCC, Microsoft OS, Symantec, and Office 2010. That doesn't seem like all that much :/
I disabled Office 2010 and I didn't see any change in boot times other than I might have counted wrong (I got ~20 seconds this time).

I think Google Update is the Google Chrome software.
If it's Symantec that's making the boot take so long, then I'll leave it like that.

Yea these antivirus and office programs really eat up the CPUs resources and decreases boot up time. To help it, you can also try to defragment your HDD as it does have some effect.

Its an SSD, you don't need to defrag

Since I plugged in a USB 3.0 drive my boot times have more than doubled on my AMD rig. I've tried every Etron driver available but no luck
