I have noticed that youtube seems to be the problem. but I rather be better safe then sorry. and meaning spending a couple hundred more on one part is not going to kill me.
my TV is not one of these small ones out there where a computer does not have to push a lot. I have called ASUS about the 7970 and they said with the size of my TV it does have to be a really good card. I do know places are going to make you want to buy the more expiencive one, but when I told them I was buying else where because of price they still said that I need something with atleast 2GB, but recomend 3GB. and the card I picked would be excellent for my TV.
one other thing. when I play it through the monitor it is on. it has zero lag in it. which tells me something is not pushing what I need it to to my TV. sharp aquos 60", 8 million to 1 ratio. 240hz refresh rate.

HD 7970 is great, but GTX 680 is better... You will look like a total dumb if you say something like:
'' ummm oh i ran a youtube video on a gtx 600 serie card and it was laggy!! umm ohhh.... gtx 600 is crap! HD 7970 is betta!! hummmm. I'm sure because ic alled asus and they told me i need a 600$ gpu to run a 1080p res jsut fine! i'm trusting them so here i go wasting money for stupid reason
''Thats' crap. you don't need 3GB for 1080p res HAHAHA. Remember, the ressolution make the difference, even if it was a 22inch 1080p monitor or your so awesome ( lol) TV, 1080p is 1080p. You will have the exact same result.
The refresh rate mean the maximum image per second you're TV can displau. in your case it's 240 FPS. So if youre card can do mroe than 240fps in some games, you won,t notice at all the difference. Because the minimum fps for perfect viewing is 60fps. Best of all is 120fps. Over that. It just useless..
Trust us, not the asus guys wanting you to spend 600$ on a graphic card to make more money. We know what we are talking about. i know what i'm talking about because i experienced many time some issue with gpu and monitor, bottleneck and others.
You won't be lagiing with a gtx 500 serie 2GB card streaming youtube ****... It may be youtube or the internet connexion.
Safe than sorry? what if i tell you 50$ graphic card would do the same job to watch movie on a 60 inch ( the size doesn't matter at ALL) 1080p TV?
I hope you understand that the only two important thing is the resolution and the refresh rate. also the response time but it's not a problem these's days. SO, with this said, stop talking about this 60'' sharp tv, nobody's care because it's not important. Just mention that 1080p is the resolution you will be using your computer and ehre we go, a GTX 680 2GB would be overkill for that... GTX 660 ti may be perfect for a semi-gamer.
Hope you'll understand what i wrote because you are really noob if you think 60'' sharp tv is hard to run for a gpu. Wich isn't realistic. as 85'' tv are still 1080p and 22'' inch monitor are 1080p. res is res, size doesn't matter. REMEMBER IT.
Fianlly, i don't want you to get a cheaper gpu somehow, i find high end gpu usefull for my use and won't tell you to go hd 5450. Just to understand what is important when choosing a gpu.
