Update 8/14/2012 I have had many others comment on my pics an results so here you go I retested the nh-d14 an have no idea why it has such high temps. Also the pics below do not reflect my testing an are only for reference. What the graph is fabled is how it was tested. So please be patient with me an ill have all the other results posted soon for all fan setups that I tested on all coolers.

Now to the way I will be reviewing the coolers an the test bed.

You guys might be thinking its very crazy to put the V8,612,212+ in this review but i have a good point to show. If we look at the price point of each cooler its unfair to put a $49. cooler up against a $80+ cooler. But lets take that same $49 cooler an add 2 $15.99 fans now we have a cooler that has cost you now $80.98. So lets see how that now fairs against a cooler that is $80 to start with. I think this will be a good review.


Test bed(s). Ok Im going to be using a SKT1366 setup for the review an if time i ill also be using a AMD 1090T setup.

Mobo Asus P6T6 WS Revolution
CPU Xeon W3520(same as D0 i7 920)
Ram 3x2GB crucial 1866 @ 1600 7-7-7-24-1T
Gpu PNY GTX 295 single PCB
PSU Corsair GS 800
Case Inwin malestrom with 10 120mm fans
Also might test without case.


TESTING METHOD.

All coolers will use the Same PK-3 thermal paste t. will run coolers box stock then with extra fan(s) an aftermarket fans. will do a price compare at each point an what gain the cost of fan upgrade got the cooler if any.

Testing software
My poor Xeon will run at 3.8Ghz so 200X19 at 1.21V with HT on will be using REAL TEMP for temps an a digital thermometer for air temp. Stress test will be INTEL burn test running 6 passes at MAX. will then let system idle for 10min an record the highest core temp an the highest idle temp with air temp at time of reading. im working on graphs at this time to plug in data.



BIG 3 Testing. Now Im planing on trying to do an all out compare on the ASSASSIN,D14,an Phanteks since they are some of the largest an most expensive Air coolers an see just how the Logisys Assassin can hold its own.
