Awesome! I'm looking forward to reading this smile.gif. Haha, giving away the 212+ with AP15's is a great idea -- it was that thread that brought me here.

I already know how this is going to go.

The hyper 212+ will have the highest temps, but for the money it is hard to beat.

The V8 will have the second highest temps, and I am surprised you went with the v8 over the nzxt havik 140mm.

The new CM 612 is what I will be interested in. I haven't seen any good reviews of it, but the concept of the cooler is an interesting one.

Next will be the noctua NH-d14.....HOWEVER I think people should keep in mind that it is because it has a 120mm and a 140mm fan vs 2 140mm fans. This was a design feature specifically aimed at supporting more types of ram. Considering that Mushkin's blackline (and many other standard size ram) ram fits perfectly with the noctua NH-D14 and not with the phantek cooler or the assassin, I personally think the noctua heat sink still is probably the better of all the heat sinks available.

Next will be the phantek cooler. It is nice because it has a variety of colors. smile.gif

And lastly you will have the assassin cooler by maybe 3 degrees difference of the phanteks cooler. The only reason it would have higher temps than the phantek cooler is if they screwed up the fan design tongue.gif.

At OP: I really hope you would exchange the cooler master v8 for nzxt havik 140mm cooler. As it already stands, the nzxt is such a great value for money cooler than it is pretty much all I recommend for overclocking that a simple hyper 212 evo cooler couldn't handle. It actually is about 3 degrees warmer than the noctua nh-d14 for about 20 bucks less and it is much smaller. If you could that the CM 612 would beat the nzxt cooler and score close enough to the noctua nh-d14 (if not better) for 60 bucks, I think this review could start a bit of a heat sink revolution. thumb.gif

lol, i think if you put the same fan on all of the coolers, the phantek and d14 and the assassin should pretty much have the same temps

A reviewer on a greek forum has made a heatsink test device here:http://www.thelab.gr/apo-to-ergastiri/codename-project-jalapeno-88844.html
Here's a chart with the heatsing results mounted on jalapeno (project name) .Load is 345 Watts!

Seems that phantecs will be the winner

well.. i had the nd14, the thermalright silver arrow and now the phanteks twin tower.. and let me say, YES it is that good, and i can say it was the only 1 of the 3 coolers that actually performs much better with the 3rd fan attached
