Good idea. I have no idea what or where things are off. It's just that every review I've seen shows K2, D14 & TC14 within a few degrees of each other. Maybe ambient was a little different too and everything stacked up to cause the variance.

Maybe you should run all the tests 10 or 20 times and average them for a scientific baseline.eek.gif

Look it could be something wrong with the base plate it has some very dull spots on it that wont come off an there are rub spots on the the base where the cpu make contact. I have cleaned it the best I can. An as far as the pics go (to everyone ) they are just for reference. If the chart says box stock that is what it is straight from the box. When my other graphs are finished you'll see them labeled as what I tested them. Like 3 blade master fans or 3 slip stream fans exct. So please calm down an await the full results.thumb.gif

Quick question; are Assassin and Phanteks tests with 3 fans? That could account for approx. -1c in results. Another 1c variance in mounting, another 1c in manufacturing and maybe 1c ambient and we have 4c wink.gif

Appears D14 is running a little hot.. like 2c.. and Phanteks is running the same 2c cool. Well within tolerance.

Frostytech tested 4 Phanteks coolers; red, blue, orange and white and had a 0.8c spread in results... and I don't think color was the cause. biggrin.gif

No I only used what came in the box on stock runs. Im almost finished with the other graphs so stay tuned.

Temperature gap with other fans is only a couple of degrees. Guess that proves the D14 is not as bad as it shows on stock fans. biggrin.gif

Assassin sure likes high airflow.

If I wasn't on wrong side of pond you could test TY-140 andTY-143 fans. thumb.gif

Right now since im finished with the tests im using the assassin with slip stream fans an my case. Right now im at 4.46ghz stable an mem at 1866@7-7-7-24 so im very happy with this cooler.

Again thanks to all that helped make this happen.

i like how this turned out with the same fans all the coolers seem about on par with eachother but i think out of the box the Phanteks fans give it a few degree edge

great job with all the graphs and testing man thumb.gif

Awesome job.

good work with the testing. I was surprised more about the three "budget" coolers more than the high end ones. the 212 keeps up with the v8.

also not sure by looking at the charts but did the phanteks do better with the third fan?
