Thanks for the reply. I'm tempted to get it for the 50$ shipped deal that they are running but I've never installed such a huge cooler before and it seems to weigh just a bit less than 3 pounds which scares me. I ordered the Thor V2 case so I'm not scared about fitting it in but just worried about it clearing my memory and not breaking my motherboard or something.

Rep added smile.gif I can't believe you were able to get around 20c difference between the 212+ and the Phanteks, it makes me really happy I went ahead and ordered the phanteks with 3x TY-143's! Now I play the waiting game while newegg is on the 3rd business day and hasn't even processed it yet. I have my stable OC and temps over in the ivy bridge stable thread but I too will post my results and compare them using the same voltage and oc in this thread.

84-93-90-86 after almost 13 hours of prime95 on my 212+ (Bare in mind, Ambient was 25c~ during this run, its been scorching hot here the last day)

Great job bro,biggrin.gif

awesome thread very different from coomercial site , soon i will test Deepcool Assasin with tropical weather room temp about 31C thumb.gif
post #85 of 108
Had forgotten all about Moparman's testing.
Indeed a very comprehensive bit of work. thumb.gif

We really need a "cooler test results" forum for this kind of threads to be stickied in.

Moparman ...

if you have time please test Noctua NHU12P SE2,Noctua NHU12S NHU14S and Megahalems
post #87 of 108
No need to test them.

NH-U12P is about the same as Hyper 212 & 612
NH-U12S is about the same as NH-U12P
NH-&14S is about the same as NH-D14, Assassin & PH-TC14PE
post #88 of 108
I would agree with that no really need to spend much efforts testing the NH-U12P.

I know someone that had a chance to test both the 212 Plus and the NH-U12P in a system with LGA775 Q9550.
The U12P was better than the 212 by about 6C.

The 212 isn't a high end cooler but it costs only $20 - $30.

The Noctua NH-U12P SE2 like the 212 isn't a high end cooler and it costs $72 in the NewEgg.
For this price tag there's much better heatsinks.

So NH-14 has almost the same temp as D14 when I put on i4 4770k cpu, is that correct?

I do not know of the NH-14. If you mean NH-U14S than yes, it will.

Akasa Madusa, Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E, Noctua NH-U14S, Phanteks PH-TC14PE, & BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 2 are all with 1.5c of each other with 345w heat, and Noctua NH-D14 is only 2.4c warmer.
http://www.thelab.gr/heatsinks-coolers-watercooling-reviews/cpu-cooler-review-database-89014.html

Notice the Akasa Madusa is twice as loud. Put TY-143 2500rpm fans on Silver Arrow SB-E or by the Extreme version and it's just as loud.. but it is about 5c cooler. wink.gif

Better fans on NH-D14, like stock Phanteks fans it's only 2c warmer than TC14PE and same as Assassin.
