Intel HD3000 problem

Thread Starter
My laptop's HD3000 is running at much slower FPS than another laptop with an HD3000, and similarly clocked cpu. My laptop is MSI make, and GPU-Z shows it to be going at max 600mhz when gaming. I know this cpu is not very good for gaming, but its running L4D2 at 15FPS at 640x480 and everything lowest. Does anyone know if it is under clocked, how I can speed it up, or if GPU-Z is inacurate?
Thanks!

Likely it's that your Windows 7 power management settings are set to power saver. See this page.

Seems to be a power management thing. Either change power plan in Windows 7 or change the settings in Graphics Properties ->Power ->Power Plans ->Maximum Performance. It should solve your problem. thumb.gif

I tried that and the only option is "Balanced (recommended)", so there is no high performance option. I'm running windows 7 btw.

I think it's an 'Advanced Option' within the Performance Plan.

If the OP is in windows 7 then click "more power options" > "show additional plans" >"High Performance" now as a note to the OP. Your computer won't hibernate when the lid is closed if you have it in high performance mode. So just remember to put it to sleep or switch back to balance when done.
