I just took a flex pipe and ran it directly from my A/C vent into the case side window, where I hooked it up close to to the GPU. Fo sho!

i had an epic delta fan blowing on them from the side, and a 140 blowing on them from the bottom before i went to the wet side.

I have a HAF 932 so it has a 200mm fan as intake and a 200mm fan on the side panel. Then I have a 140mm exhaust fan and my Corsair H80 blows out of the top of the case.

It would seem to me that GPUs that exhaust hot air out the rear will benefit most from direct airflow, while those that dump air into the case can benefit from PCI slot blowers that suck the hot air out of the case. I know that in my old rig with an X800XT PE the side panel fans didn't do more than drop it by 1-2C but having a PCI slot exhaust blower dropped it around 10C!

I removed all of the expansion slot blanks & hung a 92mm X 15mm on the backside. It's not blowing on the cards. 2 vid cards with only the top vid card connect to the monitor. Makes -7 to -10C in mobo, cpu and vid card temps. I could make some brackets to fasten it down. It is a Sythe SY1012SL. Thats a quiet fan. The air coming out of the 120mm case fan in the back is not as warm as the air pulled out of the expansion slots. The 92mm fan covers the bottom 5 slots. useful if you are doing SLI/Xfire & plugging in to the top card. It works with a the FX board because all PCI-e slots are X16. I could not do this with the other rig because the main video x 16 slot is the 4th slot down.

I am curious about the Lian Li 2x 120/140mm fan bracket that apparently fits just like an expansion card but is a giant metal frame holding the fans. I don't have the link, but I have seen it @ PPCs and Lian-Li's sites. I am asking because it could be a sweet way to place an extra radiator for cases without much room, but I don't know much about the build quality or really anything...

Yeah I have a Noctua NF P-14 Blowing onto my card with the New 670 it only makes 1-2 deg difference.

But with my old 280's in SLI it made a big difference plus I then attached a fan directly blowing air in between the cards which lowered temps by 5 deg.
