Getting the best from my rig.... - Page 2

hows it going ok a couple of suggestions (jsut my opinion here)

first im pretty sure that board can handle the fsb as high as youll need it to go, now i would take that ldt/fsb setting to 3x or even 2x for now and put your ram on a big divider and see how high you can get your cpu and most of all check for stability by running pi 32m runs which will give you a good idea of temps and initial stability

now once you get the highest you can until it wont complete the pi run then either add a notch of vcore or lower it by a few mgz this depedning on your temps and how far you wanna push it
once you have the max oc for your cpu then you can figure out a ldt/fsb that will put you close to 1000 but not over it based off your fsb speed

edit- oh and i think it holds for this board also but make sure the ram is in the orange slots (usually helps with stability )

lookin good so far by the way

now the ram - when you were trying to oc it did you make sure it was running in 1T and loosen the timings at all to see how high you can get it, allthough ill be honest with ya some of my best amd scores have come from tight timings at stock speed with 1t cr on the ram

good luck and post any more questions

Hi Madmax...

i did as you said and i was able to push the chip to 2973mhz!! @ 1.53v (270x11)

it booted to windows fine and all looked well. Then i tryed raising the ram divider back from 1/2 to somewhere nearer 200mhz and it just refused to boot. So i have take the clock speed back to 2915 @ 1.48v (265 x 11) this does boot with the right ram divider....mem is running at 208mhz.

Do you reckon this is my maximum?

Is it better to try and change the speeds a little to try and overclock the ram more? As i know it runs at 225mhz.

or maybe use tighter timings at the current speed of 208mhz?

cheers!
