Thanks Jackk, only 2 things I can think of.
  1. IIRC SSD firmware 5.02 has broken trim so firmware would need updating to 5.03 or above. Someone more familiar with those SSD's should be able to confirm whether or not that is the case and if 5.03 has any stability problems.
  2. Sometimes the trim does not work right away but can be seen after reboot or using a quick disk scan (autofix not needed) or sometimes after logging off for a few minutes. There may be cases where sometimes it is discarded too.

If you are okay with points 1 & 2 and have selected the RST OROM and not the RSTe OROM in the BIOS then I guess it does not work.

I think they have sorteds the issues with the RIVE and 64gb of memory from what i have been reading people have been able to use 64gb of ram at 2133 and 2400. also g-skill says this ram will work with the board at full speed ratings and they told me all you could get was 1600 with 64gb on this board.

Hi ucode, I was thinking about flashing the firmware on the Corsairs too. Downloaded 5.02 sometime ago but have not had time to go through the firmware update. Nice to know that 5.03 is out already.

Guess I can hold off a little bit. because I'm troubleshooting the monitor asleep with TDR video driver recovery issue. I do not have any OC enforced. This is driving crazy and i think it is an nVidia driver issue:

Event ID 4101
Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding... blah blah blah.

It takes awhile for the monitor the come back when I move the mouse. The strange part is it happens randomly. Still trying to figure out what the hack is going on. I'm reluctant to spend any $$ on a 680 4GB card until I see some changes on the 560ti behavior, waiting for a new driver release at the moment.

Jackk , was the issue caused by one of the Nvidia BETA drivers? my driver also for some reason stopped working as I was in the middle of downloading a video. I have NEVER seen that happen before so I was a little shocked. My screen went blanck briefly and I my PC was going to BOSD but it did not it just said Nvidia display driver stopped working. so what I did after that is revert back to the latest NON- BETA driver and All is well. Betas are alittle risky hahahha . I agree with you as I think it is also an issue with the Nvidia driver.rolleyes.gif

I hear you jackk, seems IMO the faster technology updates the less time there is to get the products on the shelves before all / most of the bugs have been sorted, IOW get it on the shelf and fix any outstanding problems afterward. frown.gif

No sweat on the testing, a user by the name of snout was able to show trim working on RAID0 on his Gigabyte X79 running a new BIOS with RST 11.6 OROM and 11.2 driver. So the question has now been answered, good news for all X79 users with SSD's in RAID0.

Hope you get your problems resolved soon and thanks once again for the testing.

ukyo....run a 3dvantage benchmark with 4 sticks and with 8 sticks. when i load all 8 sticks...it drops my physics score significantly. when i pull out 4 of them....the physics score goes back up. see if you get similar results.
