ASRock X79 Extreme 11 Owners Issues & Hopefully Fixes - Page 45

Well I am able to get my memory to 2400. I have had to remove two modules because of that bad slot. Don't know how stable I am yet.

My settings are X.M.P. 1 with a VCCSA set to 1.25 and the voltage at 1.65... Before I begin any overclocking I want to get the ram stable.

Is this how you guys are doing it? From what I recall these are the G-Skill recommended settings (at least for the Rampage IV).

Thanks....

So you're running dual channel now instead of quad channel with the two memory modules removed?

I am thinking of this board for my build. I would like to know if this board has any major issues that say stay away If I were to buy now. (EVGA x79 lineup)

What ram are you using? Are they on the verified list for Asrock?

No major issues. The board can be a little tricky to get working perfectly with high OCs though.

From what I have read this board has the SAS controller on board. I would like to run a pair of 15k SAS drives in addition to SSD's. Any problems in that department. I will water cool and OC but not extreme OC. Thanks.

Yes I am using dual channel. I t is going to be a huge pain, but I am going to switch out boards throw my other Rampage in here.

I have to get all my water out though. Ugh. And yes I am using RAM that is right for this board.

A quick question guys - I have just recieved my board replacement and am prepping the cpu to get watercooled.

As always it is advisable to do it without any components or even better outside the case.

Is it possible to boot up Asrock EX11 - (just get the board come curent from the psu) without CPU, GPU and memory podules ?

Cause I'm trying and pressing power button on the board and nothing happens ???

Not to sure. But why do you want power to your board when prepping loop? Its safer to have no power to board also.

The X79 Extreme11 can be a pain with compatibility when using high speed memory modules. I almost gave up on running at 2400 before later BIOS versions fixed stability issues. I suppose I just got lucky with the G.SKILL 32GB 2400 DDR (4 x 8GB) and Extreme11 board. Good luck to you and your Asus board.

I still love my ASRock X79 Extreme11! Can't go back when using 8x 512GB SSDs in RAID-0. smile.gif
