I was wondering how I managed to do this - my memory isn't even on Asrock's recomended vendor list then I remembered that in my case (while using the previous board) I had installed rubber gromits all in all of the cable holes. One (the biggest actually) was on its edge surely touching the metal fins of the C1 bank - with which I had previously some trouble (unable to get quad channel).

Now I'm sure the rubber was touching the bank and somehow isolating the electric signals from it - thus quad channel was impossible a that time.

And since I had all the gromits removed before installing the replacement it's no surprise that now it works smile.gif

Quick question, when I'm doing large network file transfers from my extreme 11 to another windows 8 machine, my system starts acting very flaky (high DPC latency, sound pops out, mouse is VERY jerky, CPU usage gets really high). I've tried to update every driver (including network) that I can think of. As soon as I pause the network transfer everything immediately goes back to normal. Didn't know if anyone else had this problem. Removing my overclock does NOT seem to help.

For those who can't get 2400 stable on memory you can try the 125MHz base clock for 2333. Tried it out on my system and it's actually faster. 36 x 125MHz with the memory at 2333 gets me a couple hundred points higher in 3DMark11 compared to 45 x 100MHz with the memory at 2400.

Try some registry tweaks;

Is the on board Core3D any good? (I have the titanium HD).
I may have to use it if Tri=SLi doesn't support 4 monitors (apparently it does if you use all the ports in the first monitor BUT i dont have monitors which have HDMI, 3 monitors are DVi only and 1 hdmi)
Otherwise i will use a 4th vid card for the 2 other monitors while the sli cards have 2 monitors plugged into them.

It will be setup so i have sli enabled all the time, but also have 4 monitors enabled all the time. It works quite well, do ya desktop stuff and then just run a quick game without shutting stuff off or down.

All my new **** will be arriving end of the week.

Core3d is pretty good only after some tweaking. Out of the box settings were unimpressive.

Not sure what you mean by you have to connect all ports to the first monitor. But 4 displays are supported by all Kepler cards from single gpu up to 4-way SLI. If you are having problem with connections you could get a dvi-HDMI adapter.

What's up Clayton, long time no talk to. I think I know you from the EVGA forums.

I did have a similar problem, but it was a little different. I did have all the intermittent mouse, sound, and video skips. I found the problem originated from my ram voltage. Even with all stock settings my ram voltage went to 1.65v and I still had the problem. I had to manually set my ram to 1.5v. What's weird is no one else had this problem. I'm guessing it was just picky with my particular setup configuration.

I'll give the 4 DVi monitors a try during the week to see if it does 4 monitors with sli enabled using the dvi connectors on the 2 cards, also try some other configs.
If it works, i can retain the titanium HD.
Only 2 monitors for sli when using DVi ports. Using the other dvi ports has no display function.

That's cool, ill use a separate video card for the other 2 monitors and use the onboard sound, pretty much the way it was planned to begin with (3 680's + 1 630).

I've been looking into that as well. It seems according to NVIDEA you can only support 3 monitors in an array with GeForce version video cards. If you want a 4 monitor array or 2 x 2 setup you need to buy the Nvidea Quadro cards. The latest one out supports 4 displays but the card is almost $2000.00. I already ordered a 2x2 stand for my setup and gave a call to Nvidea. They told me you can only run 3 in an array on GeForce series cards if you add a fourth monitor it will be a stand alone monitor and not part of the array.

I have 4 Samsung S27A850D monitors and 4 x EVGA GeForce GTX680 Classified video cards in a 4-way sli. If you visit the Nvidea website they show you that all monitors must be plugged into the exact same port on each card for 3-way sli spanned video. You can use the dual link for each card or all HDMI or all display port but it doesn't give any scenarios for 4 way monitors. According to their site there are no drivers that will support a 4-way array. It doesn't matter how many video cards you have the 4th one will be stand alone. I guess they didn't expect a motherboard to come out with x16/x16/x16/x16 slots. This is the only board that does and they have no drivers for an array like that. They also want to protect their Quadro line of cards as well I guess. I have everything I need to do it but I just got my board replaced through RMA and haven't finished putting in all the video cards yet. I need to do some fancy wiring work before I get it all up and running. I have 15 fans built into the case 4 of which are 180mm side fans while the rest are 140mm. I was thinking of going all water but the blocks for the vid cards are almost $200 each with shipping and taxes and I haven't even bought the pump. reservoir, radiators , fittings, hose, these will all cost extra so I can see going all water will cost me an extra $1500.00 when all is said and done. I want to see what I can do on air with an H100i cooler only. I can always buy the rest later when I have the money.

Guys,

What are the optimal settings for a 2.1 Speaker system using the SoundCore 3D (onboard) on the AE11?

I would like to get the best sound possible from the on-board chip - I have an optical cable that runs to a dedicated amp and then from there to 2 speakers and a sub.

Further, I've had a problem with my microphone on my headphones (Sennheiser PC-350) for a while now. It's plugged into the pink slot in the back of the motherboard and the Creative SoundBlaster Control Panel shows that "Front/Rear Panel Microphone" is connected but no matter what I do, I can't get the microphone to work. I've even tried reinstalling the drivers a couple of times.

And, what are the latest RSTe drivers for the board? I have 3.6.0.1086 from 10/18/2012. The latest BIOS is 2.70 right?
