Did anyone find out exactly what it was that killed their Extreme11?

I have asked the store to try and find out what made it die.

My replacement is prepared, but don't want to repeat the same problem (whatever it was).

I had my first one die on me last year,.....after only a couple of weeks. But the RMA process was quick and simple....and my replacement board has been rock steady and is the best board I've ever owned. Once you get rid of the x-fan....it's quiet, overclocks easy, has a great UEFI (and lots of frequent updates) and I think it's the best looking board out there as well.

Kudos to Asrock. Can't wait to see what they do to top the AE11.

So from what I gather reading the thread, it can be said, that it is generally a bad idea to run windows from drives connected to the LSI?

The other boards can't match it bar the ASUS Z9PE-D8-WS which makes for a a good gaming xeon setup if you spend $4000 on cpus......

Well after the last BIOS update to 2.70 I had werid issues going on with my 4-way 670 setup. I wonder if this fixes that back to the way it was before. Would get constant BSOD's with CRITICAL_PROCESS_FAILED. When I ran the debugger it was telling me that csrss.exe was failing (very descriptive I know....)

Did you have both molex cables plugged into the board? Just wondering coz i had both of my molex plugs connected for 3 680s.

I was wondering what killed your first board because I think mine's dead. It only switches on to show a "15" or "10" on the debugger then switches off. Video, ram, cpu SSD,all work fine on my old RIVE ( I know, use the RIVE), but I need to know if I can revive this board with a reinstallation of the bios, if that's possible, without having to switch the board on......................... Or is my EX11 toast?

I've only just unboxed this board and have not had it running in the past at all. It has been on the shelf for a few months while I tortured my RIVE. I changed the battery as a matter of course and tried different ram, video cards, cpu, SSD but no go.
