thx for the input. I double checked the CL settings too when I found out the gflop drop with 8 DIMMS populated. Didn't notice any setting had changed.

Since I'm not an expert when it comes to all the settings we have in the in the BIOS RAM settings, I just tried manually enforcing the CL settings instead of leaving them all in "auto". Didn't make any difference. I wish ASRock would provide a document to explain what can be done w/ all those settings....

Peace

Same here... oh well I guess. Could keep playing the RAM lottery.

On the subject of this board. Anyone try out the new BIOS?

What new in the bios? Update for IB-E?
On my phone or I would look it up myself. smile.gif

Yeah that one, and apparently my overclock is screwed now. Now when I run OCCT or anything else as soon as all cores get loaded up the clock drops back down to 3.3GHz. I've cleared the CMOS and reloaded what I thought to be the cause. Any help here would be appreciated. Running my 3930k on water.

Thanks Clayton. I will probably get the 4930k. Just because I have to have the newest. Even though if it's only 5-10%, lol. Anyone that want a discounted 3930k soon hit me up.

  • How long has this been happening? Not after bios update?
  • What' do you have your current core limit set at?
  • What are temps during full load stress?

This just started happening after the BIOS update, no issues prior
Current core limit is set at 300
Temps at full load stress at 4.8GHz before BIOS update were at around 68-73. Now since the thing is getting clocked back down to 3.2GHz it stays in the very low 60's or very high 50's.

They mentioned something in the text about not flashing back after moving forward to this version. I probably shouldn't take my chances. I've logged a support ticket with them, but I don't have much faith in that......
