ASRock X79 Extreme 11 Owners Issues & Hopefully Fixes - Page 97

I experience that as well, from time to time. Double check that it didn't get disable in bios somehow, then just reinstall the drivers.

Just a quick drop in - My board has been going great. No problems to report.

Hi all,

Everyone happy with Asrock X79 Extreme 11 motherboard? I'm asking because I will need to buy another X79 motherboard since my P9X79 PRO motherboard developed a weird issue. There are three motherboards I'm considering which are Asus Rampage IV Extreme, Asus Rampage IV Black Edition & Asrock X79 Extreme 11. Unfortunately, the first two are out of stock over here but I only asked two reseller so far.

I see some people have a problem with their audio device missing. Is this heat related because ambient over here doesn't go below 28C & most of the time is 32++ Celsius.

I only have two SSD's & one HDD. With only two GPU's (290's), am I going to see drawback or any issue with PLX chip?

Thank you in advance.

Hi, am proud owner of X79 Extreme11 more than one year. No problem so far thumb.gif. Only one slightly negative is really annoying loud chipset fan.

Really don't get, how someone can babbling about PLX chips issues. I've tested lot of AMD and nVidia cards in multi GPU configurations and no problem detected.

You can't go wrong with any of those boards. smile.gif But I'm still loving my AE11 almost a year and a half since I got it. I replaced the chipset fan with a waterblock, so it's nice and quiet.

Thanks. I'm glad to hear that you're happy with your motherboard & it doesn't have any serious problem at all. Honestly I do prefer Rampage IV motherboard especially the Rampage IV Extreme. The AE11 is a very nice motherboard & this is why I'm considering it too.

It's intermittent issue that I have with current motherboard. Pretty annoying because it's working flawlessly again but for sure it will happen again in the future because it already happen twice (motherboard refuse to turn on at all). For sure I'll need to get another x79 motherboard since I want to stick with x79 system for a while before upgrading.

I'm "upgrading" from a Asus Rampage Extreme ROC, to the Asrok X79 Extreme 11 because I can't find a SAS controller that is compatible with the asus mainboard.

I had a set of blocks for the Board made by Mips that I've since sold, and now I'm using a set made by nateman_doo. Mips is out of business now, but you can find nateman_doo here, or on the EVGA forums.

That little x-fan is so noisy, that you really need a set of blocks to enjoy this board.

im using a 2nd LSI card, 9207-8i with this board.

good thing about it is the LSI bios, both cards can be controlled or configured.

what i mean is the card and onboard can be managed by 1 LSi bios.
