Subs always drop in the months prior to expansions, but many are tired of the same old.

For me, if I'm ever feeling nostalgic, I just look at my photobucket.

also 1.2 million people purchased diablo 3 by buying 1 year of WoW subscription up front. So there is a potential 1.2m players who are not actually playing wow at, but are still subscribed.

Summer time subs almost always drop. Sitting in your gaming cave when it's beautiful outside is harder to do.

That would be me... I would still play wow but seriously it hasn't changed at all since November when I last played. Beat all the raids, have all the pvp gear, nothing else to really keep me playing.

Oh an of course, already beat Diablo and bored of that as well.

You kinda don't, if you want to have any sanity left. There are plenty of things to do though, if you value old content and new content alike. I can't play it without friends to play with, it's just a different game.

You don't, you keep doing the raids as they come and get better gear. Scrounging for achievements is also fun.
