You just hit 4ghz. From where were you overclocking it? Please do not use software. Just use the BIOS:)

4 GHz is very good for Phenom II X4 955, IMO. No need to stress yourself over it.

Hi , im new in this forum and this post make my day. Its the same that i would like to know.

My pc spect

Phenom II 955 @4.0
kingston 4gb 1666
sabertooth 990fx
HD6950
Cooler master 650W 80+

@4.0 spects

200 * 20
HT LINK 2006.7
vcore 1.5 (tried with 1.45 but pc restarted)
vNB 1.2
NB 2600

run OCCT and it was fine, stable. But i was concerned because in all of test that i made this was the hotter one, the temp went from 40° to 68° in 100% cpu usage, so im worried about that number. if anyone can help me it would be nice smile.gif
thanks u

Greeting from Chile ;D

better cooling=higher overclocks
4.0 on a 955 isn't so bad wink.gif

Getting BSOD's with 1.48 v after 30 sec
1.5 v after 2 min
1.525 v after 5 min.
But whats the problem here? The temps are under 50 degrees around 45 degrees while running prime with smal fft's

Looks like you need more voltage to stabilize, when I had my 965 @ 4.2GHZ, it required 1.55v. Not every chip is the same though, so you may just be at the limits of your chip

How i did it ?
Put everything on stock, Increase bus speed ( that increase the HT (keep that around 2000) ram and NB )... everytime you increase your bus ( i did it by 5 everytime ) check if it stable and if not up the volts by a few then determine how much you can keep it up for... after doing all that increase your cpu multi

also remember your ram ... your ram is getting OC so increase volts ... dont overclock it to much ( if its gone really high decrease the multi on it )

i know this aint the best explanation and im not the best overclocker ( im a noobie )but this was my results

Just can't get further then 4.2. If i stress on that value i get BSOD.

4.0 is pretty good for that chip.

What's your vcore under load? You should be safe up to 1.55v, just keep temps under 60c while stress testing

You said earlier you tried 1.525v and BSOD'd after 5 mins, increase it to 1.55v and see what that gets ya, if it BSODs then just revert back to 4.1ghz, you won't notice the difference really
