when this comes out we ARE going to be seeing insane liquid-cooled tablets and such... It's going to be incredibly impractical.

However, I do think its a good idea. It'll be a great way to bench phones and get a good cross-phone bench.

By saying that the Android benches will be comparable to the Windows benches, are they saying that we can finally really compare these different architectures with the same software the way we do GPUs, x86 CPUs and such now? Or am I totally off the point here? redface.gif

I would love to have something like Passmark Performance Test that was compatible with multiple platforms to bench your phones and tablets against your x86 devices with individual CPU, storage, memory tests, etc.

With all due respect, you're already wrong on this one. My 99 cent Pantech Burst is overclocked from 1.2 to 1.5 GHz without even having a heavily modified kernel or ROM yet if that tells you anything.
People have been overclocking phones and tablets for a good while now. As far as extreme cooling and benching coming around like we do on Intel and AMD desktop cpus.. well I dunno about that. Call me skeptical on that one.

Except that you'll face the same problem that you do with laptops when you try to do any decent overclocking: you have limited battery and there is no space for cooling.
