Actually, if you undervolt and overclock, it works pretty well for heat and battery. Many android phones can be undervolted with absolutely no problem.

Results will be comparable to PC, huh? If they're trying to make the Android version as comparable as they possibly can with the PC version, who'd like to take bets on whether Medfield will have an optimized code path? tongue.gif

It's not that bad actually, and you wanna know why? Even with max CPU set to 2Ghz on my Inspire, it'll still clock down to ~120Mhz when I don't need the speed (including any time the screen is off). Now that is what I call SpeedStep. biggrin.gif

Also, what heat? It gets warm to the touch at best, but it'll do that when it's in use for a hour or two anyway.

I've run and passed SunSpider at that speed in Chrome, Dolphin, and Stock (I'll find the post of the scores if you like) (Here it is), and its useable. Find me Prime95 for Android and I'll do it.

This has started a new trend...

Only if I can plug in my CPU, GPU, and RAM like a microSD card, and not have to reset my phone. That would be awesome. Put them under the battery.

I think we all know the limitations on overclocking mobile devices. I was merely pointing out that saying it's non-existent is an obvious exaggeration.

I thought that the Burst was 1.2GHz stock while the Pantech Element tablet with the same CPU was clocked at 1.5GHz. headscratch.gif
Either way I hope it's not too long before someone makes a kernel or ROM or whatever it is that has to be done to allow some higher overclocking just so I can see how high it can go. biggrin.gif
