I currently am being offered a working display panel from a 27 in iMac for $150. Is this the same that the korean monitors use? Is there any way for me to use it?

I believe the Korean monitors have a slightly lower grade, but it should be pretty much the same thing. By getting the "panel" what exactly do you mean? Are you just getting the internals of the panel, the lcd itself, everything but the circuits?
The imac has the panel wired differently from a regular desktop display so you would have to wire on a displayport connector or something, but for that price it is totally worth it.

Its like straight out of the imac. Has all the connections that would have been made via ribon cable. Any idea where to buy the displayport connetor?
