Did I make a bad choice in picking up a H100?

So they H100 was on sale, and it was like $90 (no rebates biggrin.gifthumb.gif ), a little over (like $92), and was wondering if that was bad thing to do.
I'm wondering how it would compare to a Noctua DH-14 which is like $5 more $85.99.

Now, will the H100 cool better than a DH-14?

I have used both the Noctua NH-D14 and H100 on the 2500k CPU and the H100 performed better. It is a good cooler, but not even close to real water cooling.

Why would he get that? A real watercooling loop is highly likely to leak. if you think about using that.. Think about the h100, they are closed loop and they have 5 yr warranty for a reason. Dont be scared of leaks lol. i dont like the noctua its very big and bulky and could dent your motherboard, the h100 is good and it makes temps from 70c to 30c in a second lol. its amazing.

Meh... The risk is even higher with a Rasa kit and Corsair usually replace all the dead parts if the H100 is what killed them so the risk is pretty inexistent.

@ OP: The H100 might not be the best choice but it's not bad either. It performs a bit like a D14 but it's noisier. On the other end, you get something that looks much cleaner. Of course though, it will never perform like a custom loop but that's normal.

As it's already been stated, you won't get custom loop quality cooling from a closed loop pre-made product, But as a cooler it's not so bad. Of course, it does look quite a bit nicer and cleaner than an air cooler, but it won't perform quite as well as a NH-D14.

On my 2500k it did perform better by 7c at 1.48v actually. Given, it was a LOT louder.
