Hey guys,
I just got a fresh install of windows on my PC (had to wipe and reload), and now I can't get the audio to come through my headphones. It's coming out of my monitors speakers (which isn't all bad, since I've never ever gotten those to work before lol). I downloaded the Asus Xonar DG audio drivers right from Asus right away, and set the Asus speakers as my default device, and it's still not coming through the sound card. There's a new device I've never seen before called AMD HDMI Output and that's what it's coming through. Help?
Edit:
So, I disabled the AMD HDMI output device, and now when I play audio, it shows the green bars in my Asus Xonar speakers device in the audio mixer on Windows 7, but I still don't hear any sound in my headphones. I just tested another pair of headphones on my sound card that I know are working (they are the ones I use for my iPod), and I still had no sound. I just tested my normal headphones I use on my PC (Samson SR850's) on my iPod, and I have perfect sound. Does this mean my Sound card is faulty?
One problem I know of that may have occurred... When I installed the driver for the sound card, at the end, I was prompted to select AC'97, or HD Audio, and I forgot which one I had plugged in to my motherboard, so I selected one, and now that it's not working, I think it's the option I didn't pick (which, right now, I've already forgotten which I tried first). I tried re-installing the driver, but wasn't sure how to uninstall it first, and I selected the other option, and restarted the PC. Nothing changed, I still couldn't get audio of my sound card. Still can't. Please help XP
Edit2:
I looked at the plug in my PC, thanks to my side panel window it wasn't much of a hassle, and I have the HD Audio plug plugged in, and I selected AC'97 the first time I installed the drivers... I think this is the problem... Anyway I can uninstall the drivers easily so I can reselect?
