asus vg 278h od shapes and pixelation problem - Page 2

Is the windows logo the only time you see this?

I have the same monitor and I see that with the standard windows desktop background. I spent some time adjusting the monitor before I noticed this as well. The odd thing is that I only see this on the actual windows image. Since I am not rocking a standard windows background the only time I notice this is when at the log in screen. It has not shown in any other way on the monitor at any other time.

Otherwise it's a fantastic monitor. If that is the only problem you are having I wouldn't worry about it.

thanks for replaying and thank god i found some one has the same panel

well yes i notice it with logo but some times i notice it also with other hd 1080p and also in movies in some part of it

i searched for testing photos and i uploaded some

i want u to test them also and tell me if u would see the strange dithering/banding that i see

if u could see dithering then i guess it's general issue with these panel if u couldn't then i got bad panel

these picture here show color gradient

do u see color dithering ?

well u have to change between modes like from standard to theater to game to night mode etc the best result u will get with standard , but if u changed to other it will show the color banding issue

the point is the good panel should preform smooth color transition between colors without lines or dithering

do the same steps with these photo as well :
picture test 1:
http://i50.tinypic.com/2ytnzme.jpg

do the same with these picture and change from standard to the other mods also
picture test 2:
http://i45.tinypic.com/veypmr.png

these picture is from blue ray movie i print screen and i marked where u could see the odd shapes also
and if u changed to standard mode u could clrealy see smooth color but it won't be greate like theater which in these mode u could see banding in some wall papers and movies along with the others mode as well

picture test 3:

The picture test 3 appears to be fullscreen, but is only 1600x900.

The native resolution of your monitor is 1920x1080, try setting the resolution to that instead of 1600x900 as that can have an effect on banding.

1 right click the desktop
2 click screen resolution
3 click the "resolution" drop down menu, select 1920x1080 (recommended)
4 click apply, and ok

well i just made a print screen

my monitor on 1080P and color depth 32 well the third picture i don't know why it had be resized when i i upload it but in here it's 1080P
the point not the 1080P the point in third picture is u could see reddish green color

and the first two u could see gradient which in my case it can be a pain if ur changed from standard to other modes i have seen people complaining about these issue but i don't know if
there people without it , thats why i'm asking because if it's with alot of people then it's ageneral issue that asus ignor and if it's just me then i have to replace it but i want to make sure first so i wont take the toruble of RMA which could be so annoying

Pulling up a old thread, but I know for sure I am having the same issue now. Never really noticed it other than the windows logo until I saw this thread.

I defiantly see banding when viewing almost anything diverse on my monitor. Maybe something specific to this monitor?

Also RMA shouldn't be too annoying. It's on a 3 year warranty that is supposed to be awesome. From what I understand they will send you a new one, and you return the one to be RMA'ed.
