Going Sli power requirement question?

First off, I'm brand new to the these forums and actually forums in general, so please bare with me!

I just made the upgrade from a HD 5770 to a Gigabyte gtx 670 and am starting to love it. I haven't had too much time to play with it yet but it is definety leaps and bounds better then the 5770( Not saying any thing bad about the 5770 though because I still think it is a awsome card!)

I'm not super knowledgable when it comes to power supplies and requirements so I apologize if this seems like a dumb question. Basically I'm wondering if a corsair ax850 power supply would be capable of running another gtx670 if I decided to go ahead and get another one. When I bought the power supply I was tempted with the 1200 watt version but I thought it may have been way overkill.

To provide a little inside on my computer I'm running a i7 3820 and I understand they are supposed to use a little more power then the regular 2600k's . I don't have it overclocked but I'm planning to do at least a small one. I'm also running a single Ssd and don't think I'm going to add anymore then mabey one other Ssd in the future. I also have 8 memory sticks which I assume suck more power then 4 and a basic DVD drive. I have about 4 case fans and a pump for the H100. Finnaly I have a led lighting thing going on using around 20 watts of power(mabey a little less)

I would think that 850 watts would be enough but I would like to be absolutely positive before going to SLI because I don't really have the money for a larger power supply and another video card.

Thanks for any help and sorry again if this question is annoying because I Imagin there may be many people constantly asking questions like this.

Also sorry for any typos since I'm trying to type on a phone lol.

The AX 850 is comfortably enough for 670 3way SLI (at any clocks).

Thanks a lot for the quick responses guys! Good to hear that 850 is enough. Hopefully I'll be able to go SLI soon and it's good to know that I won't need to worry about the psu.smile.gif
