SFF water cooling

Thread Starter
Hi all...

I'm looking at building a fairly compact new machine, here are some of the parts:

case: Silverstone FT03B-Mini
mobo: ASRock Z77E-ITX (mini ITX)
cpu: Intel i7-3770
gpu: EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB Video Card
memory, 450w psu, etc...

my question is: I'm not really interested in doing a lot of OC tinkering with the system, but I am interested in keeping it as cool and quiet as possible. I'm assuming that since the water cooling is more efficient than air cooling, it will mean lower fan RPM, and lower noise over all. I admit to being entirely uneducated about water cooling (and have never installed any water cooling of any type before, but have been building my own PCs for the last 16 years)... any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Should I look into cooling both the CPU and GPU, or just the CPU?

depends you got a small case you can do open loop are closed loop open being yo can choose ur own are get a kit and always add to it are closed bein you buy it for cpu only nuthing else and they make theme for the GPU aswell

Hi!
I've got a very similar setup, with the exception of a 2500k in place of your 3770 and a 680 instead of the 670

Now with the cpu being cooled on a closed loop(like the h100 for instead) the graphics card has a huge amount of fresh cool air being fed from the front of the case, which should help keep the gpu temps down anyway because of course the cpu hsf just kicks the heat around the case, which adversely affects the gpu temps...

Saying that,i'm going to set a cpu+gpu loop next week with a 200mm rad up front and a 240mm up top...i'll report back with my findings smile.gif
