New Ram trouble - Can't get correct stats

Thread Starter
I had G.skill Ripjaws 2x4gb 1333mhz (stock) and replaced it with Mushkin Redline 2x4gb 1600mhz. The mushkin have lower timings. When I first installed them they ran at 1600mhz but with 11-11-11-28 timings. This is not the correct stats for this ram. The timings are supposed to be lower at 7-7-7-24. I wrote down everything in BIOS to change DRAM timings. I've tried myself but couldn't get it working. I am new to overclocking ram and I'm not very sure what stats to change, so I made this thread. Please help. Thanks

Your going to need to increase the Ram voltage to 1.65 if you want 7-7-7-24 timings.

Lower timings then that and you might need 1.70 volts.

You can also just use the XMP/EPP overclocking profile (enable it) to get 7-7-7-24 also @ 1.65v.

This, but AMD does not support XMP profile.

Set it at 1.65v, then it should run at those timings.

My ram Voltage is set at Auto right now. Even with auto enabled it reads at 1.65v. I will change it manually to 1.65v if I really have to. Like i said in my post I am just having troubles knowing which stats to change.

To OP, not sure about your motherboard, mine however has an option in the bios for the Redlines to run at the 7-7-7-24 timings automatically .

Can't remember the setting name in the bios, I'd have to restart..

Enabling the profile only adjusts the timings, so you don't have to do it manually if you don't want to. You have to still bump the Ram volts to 1.65 yourself though.

I went back into BIOS

- I changed my voltages manually from auto to 1.65v.

- Next, I went to my DRAM timing configuring and changed:

DRAM CAS# Latency [7]
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay [7]
DRAM RAS# PRE Time [7]
DRAM RAS# ACT Time [24]

- Then, I saved everything and exited. During Boot I get this error.

Not enough APICD ID in range 0-0FH can be assigned to IO APICS. (Re-assigning CPUs load APIC IO may solve this issue) MPS Table is not built! System may operate in P/C or non-MPS mode. Press f1 to resume.

After pressing f1, Windows loading screen loads up and then BSOD. not sure what to do next.

tRC (row cycle time) to 37 for starters,so-

DRAM CAS# Latency [7]
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay [7]
DRAM RAS# PRE Time [7]
DRAM RAS# ACT Time [24]
DRAM Row Cycle Time [37]

Here is a great video for your bios

Notice the D.C.O.P. function under Overclocking gives you the correct (supposedly) settings for your memory.

DRAM E.O.C.P. is the name of the setting on my board.

When I enable profile 1 the DRAM configuration page in my bios looks like this.

Also notice the 2T.
