[best budget] m-ATX ?

Thread Starter
Hi,

After making a topic in the SFF sector ([need help] components for m-ATX build, I want to ask the experts here:

What is the best budget m-ATX motherboard at the moment?

With budget I mean:
- no need for more than 8gb ram (DDR3 1333mhz)
- no more than one GPU
- no overclocking
(- Sata III and USB 3.0 are a plus, but not necessary.)

There are SO MANY motherboards and I have NO IDEA which to buy. After searching I found:

- ASRock 880GM-LE FX
- ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX
- ASRock 985GM-GS3 FX
- ASRock N68C-GS FX
- Asrock N68-GE3 UCC

- Asus M5A78L series (but I don't know what the differences are...)

- GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P
- GIGABYTE GA-M68MT-S2

- Biostar (haven't looked at them all)

- MSI 760GM-E51 (FX)
- MSI 760GM-P23 (FX)
- MSI 760GM-P34 (FX)
- MSI 880GMA-E35 (FX)

I'm really getting nuts comparing them, if you don't know what the best is, then please tell me which aren't , so I can stop looking at those doh.gif...

Thanks in advance!

I forgot to post my other hardware:
- AMD Phenom II X4 955
- AMD Radeon HD 6850
- 4GB Kinston ValueRam DDR3 1333mhz

What makes the ASRock 985GM-GS3 FX better than the others? Like 960GM-S3 FX or 880Gm series?

I've seen the Asus and it looks nice except the price is a little high, is it worth it?
And in that price range there is also these:
Biostar A880GU3
Biostar TA880G

Greetings,

Greetings,

I notice that you're planning on running a 125W 955 on the board, which means that most of the boards you listed are redundant since they have a TDP limit of 95W. Avoid those MSI boards like the plague. What's your exact budget for the board?

Ok, I did notice the 95-125w difference at some point but forgot about it... good thing I asked for help here thumb.gif
And weird that on the ASRock site I can't always find it in the specifications...

Budget: <70-80€ if possible

I compared ASUS boards with AM3+ only and came up with these 3:
M5A78L-M LX PLUS
M5A78L-M/USB3
and the one that 'mr one' suggested, but is more expensive:
M5A88-M EVO

At the moment I'm comparing the ASRock boards...

Greetings,

Greetings,

Though this is ATX, for the budget I'd go for this board..about 68 EUR

Reliable, has an exceptionally good 4+1 phase setup and will treat the 955 well thumb.gif

Does it HAVE to be m-ATX?

Greetings,

You can go in for this board -

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128504

Older chipset but a decent 4+1 phase setup. Just slap on some VRM cooling and you're good to go thumb.gif

^ The 78LMT-S2P is a decent budget mATX option with a quality 4+1 phase.  Just make sure you do get the one with the quality 4+1 phase (ask to have a rev 3.1 board upon purchase and not rev 4.0 or 5.0).

Or the Foxconn A88GMX, which is a heatsinked 4+1 phase setup at $60 + shipping
