[Build Log] Summer Build [ Ivy 670SLI 600TSE ] - Page 2

Update 8/14:
Testing the build and have begun overclocking with the H100. My goal was 4.5GHz but it just got too hot at 90C. I am currently stable at 4.2GHz - temps:
Core #0: 66
Core #1: 71
Core #2: 69
Core #3: 65

I can not fit a push pull set up on the H100 without modding my case. Anyone with experience with the H100 know if I am getting good / bad temps with this heat sink? Installed correctly and tightly with the fans pulling cool air inside. Will be considering water cooling ASAP wink.gif

This weekend I will be ordering sleeving and vid card!

your temps are going to be higher with the 3770 than if you had a 2600, you could always de-lid it and replace the TIM to reduce your temps.

I kept the stock TIM on the H100 because I read really good things about it. Maybe in the next couple days I will re-apply AS5 and see if anything changes.

what i am referring to is the TIM under the IHS, not what you put between the IHS and the cooler.

Ahh I wasnt familiar with de-lidding but now I am smile.gif Read an article that some tech site was able to reduce their temps by 20 degrees under full load at 4.6Ghz lol. Thanks for the suggestion man!

What OC do you have on your 3770k? How are you liking your new build?

Right now I'm at 4.2GHz with temps in the high 60*C under full load. Although a lower OC than I had hoped I am enjoying it so far! I havent gotten to game yet since the build isnt completed but everything is running really smoothly. I am going to try a couple different things to get to a higher OC.

TO DO:
- Purchase vid card (SLI in the future)
- Sleeve cables!

What I did was I waited until I got everything before I even started my build. That way I can have everything clean and new. Now I'm waiting to get my new PSU and I'm saving a bit of cash for a 670 to replace this old rugged 5770. I think I may kill it soon. frown.gif

Yeah I could have waited to get everything but having to web browse on my phone for two weeks since I didnt have a computer sucked! What kind of PSU are you lookin to get? In a couple months I'll also have to upgrade my PSU when I can afford to SLI lol. I'm not too rushy to get two cards though, just waiting for Asus' 27" Thunderbolt monitor first biggrin.gif

I already ordered it, it's the AX650. I was told that it can last a heavy OC as well as 2 670s SLI and OCed. So this is was all I needed and I was already interested in this one.
