GPU PCIe contacts wearing down - Page 2

Thread Starter
To update this old thread for any who venture here, I would like to note that the card eventually stopped working. This is most likely due to my original fear that it WAS the pins in the PCIe slot wearing away at the metal contacts on the card, eventually wearing all the way through to the fiberglass.

I have since then purchased a replacement card and am content until the next gen cards are released. But I will go back to this card and see if there is a method to repair the damaged contacts and make it usable again.

Once again, I had found no solution to this problem.

Couldnt you get a conductive paint pen and just fill in the wear marks.
Or if you have a decent soldering iron with a fine tip use some solder to fill in the marks.

you could use some contact tape or put a tiny but of solder on there to bridge the gap couldnt you?

NOTE : It's 3AM so I am not in any condition to be throwing out ideas on hardware mods
