[ABI] Price and Screen Sizes to Restrict OLED TVs to Less Than 1% of Market Through 2013 - Page 2

When i bought my current 47" tv back in 2008, my upgrade plan was to go for nothing less then OLED around 2012-2013. Clearly i will miss that target.

By this rate we will get QD-LED displays before OLED for tv size.

Most consumers are idiots who don't actually care about quality.

They care about (in order), price, size and brand name.

If you have $500 to spend on a TV, imo it makes sense to go with a bigger screen vs, say, a nicer 120hz panel. As for caring about price... I hear some people have budgets.

This is spot on, for good reason the average person doesn't think it is worth an extra $200 to have slightly deeper blacks

Because they will buy on brand name and it's perceived quality over a set that has a better overall value.

The thing I want OLED for the most right now is just monitors. A multi monitor OLED setup with practically zero bezel just sounds amazing.

If I was on a budget, I would go for bigger screen than one that is smaller and can produce better colors.
It took a market research team to figure that out? They could've spent a day in any pawn shop with a large inventory of LCDs and figured that out. I've had 55" borderless Samsung smart TVs have a tough time selling for $800 while I can sell a crapper 720p Sanyo 55" for $6-700 all day.
