Are the black splotches, over-saturated colors and fast death of the blue colors also delaying?

No thanks...

Remember guys, certain trends in consumer technology started with Apple. Apple releases a PC to the mass market that doesn't require a huge box, BOOM all in ones are popular. Apple releases a thin laptop, BOOM everybody raves for Ultrabooks. Now with the retina iPhone, iPad, and Macbook displays becoming increasingly popular, its already visible that PPI is exponentially increasing in consumer devices and no doubt this will transition to the living room very soon.

When it comes to TV's , I chose a fairly low end 50" Plasma. The color and image quality is worlds better than a low end 1080p LCD (and better than other budget plasmas I have seen) even though it's only 720p. I see no need to upgrade since 720p on a plasma is much more forgiving than on an LCD so it's not like I can see individual pixels even though I sit fairly close. I need reasonable pixel real estate on my monitors but see no need on my TV. I'd pick my 50" over a higher quality 40" any day. 90% of what I watch on TV is less than 720p anyway.

But that's me. I don't have a lot to spend and I spend it on computers and food biggrin.gif.
