doh.gif fail. do you even know what thermal paste does the h100 came with?

Overall you'll likely only notice a 1-3C difference between most TIM's. Most important in my opinion is the application and not so much what's used. You can use some of the best out there, but apply to omuch or not enough and get bad tempuratures.

Also remember, that most TIM's have a cure time, during which they'll run maybe 1-2C hotter, but after they cure the temp will drop some.

Corsair used Shin Etsu which is highly respected in most aspects. Some models also use Dow Corning, which again, is pretty decent in itself.

I have been folding on my 3rd machine with mustard for 3 days now lol. temps 60ish.
If you're going to go in the fridge based on that test, you'd be better off to grab the mayo than the mustard ...

If you want the best with results that are noticeably better than the rest - you want to go with Indigo Xtreme, but the price and installation procedures aren't for everyone.

Personally I just stick with Arctic MX-4, even if the stuff sent with a cooler is top-notch, if only because I bought a tube for less than $6 or so a couple years ago, have used it on 8-9 or so builds so far in that time, and it still doesn't look like I've used any of it yet.

IMO pastes these days all come down to preference and consistency between mounts and less to do with actual performance.

Corsair uses great stuff though on the H series coolers.

This.

My mate the Noble Grunty swears by the industrial 5 kg tub of white crap that he uses. Expensive pastes are not as great performing as the marketing blurb makes it out to be.

I use Gelid EX myself....or MX2....whichever is closest to me at the time.....

I think that the application of the TIM is more important than anything, and most differences seen come down to simply how easy it isto apply one versus another. Thick pastes or very thin pastes are tough to apply, so consistency matters.

PPersonally, I "tint" the blocks/IHS using PK-1 and have yet to find anything that compares, but you may find a different method with a different paste works far better for you.

I say experiment with applications before spending money on different pastes.

Oh, and Arctic Silver 5 is way past it's heyday...
