Generally my PSU is something I don't mess around with, but ASUS just posted this video on their facebook site, and i thought this was wild, and had no idea it could be done... unless i set the video wrong, skip ahead to 6:39 or so

Oh, yep this is actually a common PSU trick and it's usually used to see whether or not a PSU works.  I think the most common name for it is "the paper clip trick", or "the paper clip PSU trick" or something like that.

It's like advanced alien technology! :)

It's wild..i wish i knew you could do this earlier.. I would have saved myself so much stress while filling my loop knowing i could keep everything else from getting powered on, and only power on my pump

Yeah, but it's better to learn it seemingly too late than to have never learned it at all.  :)  It's a handy and versatile trick for PSUs.

Plus it's fun for playing with fans. Hand your friend a 252cfm Delta and ask them to hold it for you and turn the PSU on wink.gif


Prolly want to put fan grills on it first, unless you don't like your friend.
