Anyone some one wants a live update as I do something, we can hold a Live Hangout from Youtube if you guys want!
Alright guys, this is the build log to my *revamped* computer. Trying to fix mistakes I made 2.5 years back when I made my current system.
This is reserved, and it will be a two part build log. Nothing too fancy I don't think, it will span over months so if you subscribe, be prepared as it will be slow.
First part is this week, getting in all my components. Second part will end by this time next year, as I learn more, but more things like a PSU bay cover, or a Mosfet block will be added month after month.
if you want to help me buy more stuff however, check out the link:

Well Hello there,

Didn't notice ya' there! Come on in, we should be in for some fun!
Now you notice that up there? The pedals? Yeah, sure, they're just pedals right? No, actually they're much more then pedals. Don't give me that look. I'll explain.
Those my friends, are a decision done correctly. No buyers remorse, none what so ever. They're a great purchase, and they fit my needs.
But that's me today. There was a time where I wasn't as... shall we say... choosy. You end up with multiple mistakes, very stupid costly mistakes. Like buying an LGA1156 board with an i7 processor when you only wanted to game, or getting a terrible case.
Now, thankfully some decisions I've made are good ones. Then there are not such good ones. I'm trying to fix my 2+ year old mistake.

Ahh, My lian li. My pride and joy really. Something so simple and so err useless as a case, yet it is something I cherish the most. Sadly, my Lian Li feels empty... incomplete...

Its in shambles, my room is in shambles, my computer is in shambles, its just a terrible mess really it is. Now what can we do to fix this situation?
First, I should clarify, why I dispise my setup so much. Where to start
- I don't need an i7
- The gigabyte ud3r is certainly not a board that I should have picked up for my needs. Doesn't have anything that really makes it stand out. And that's why its a 3 series, vs the UD5/7/9/0C. What an idotic mistake. It's a good board with good features, just not all the features I wanted!
- Those cables, gah... I've mostly mitigated the situation. I'm only missing the Front Panel and the 24pin from being sleeved.
- The cooling. Air cooling never gives me what I want it to. Water is... well it takes maintence, and I was once very big on it!
- Why is there no PSU bay cover. THERE NEEDS TO BE A PSU BAY COVER
- Lian li, as much as I love you guys, what the hell man? WHere the heck are the rubber cable grommets. Their on the p80, why not on this. I asked a rep of yours at CES about it, and he responded by saying " Don't worry about it" WHAT THE HELL? WHAT SORT OF CUSTOMER REPRESENTATION IS THAT? And don't even bring up your nonexistant customer support. They couldn't give me a rubber grommet if I sent one to them!
-The fans are blue, and very meh in quality. I don't like low noise fans, gotta fix that.
- Color Scheme of Rainbow Vomit, and Blue spewage. Blew. Ugly ugly ugly ugly ugly. Such a good looking case on the outisde , so distraught on the inside.
Basically the motherboard was a big issue. I never truly understood the importance of a motherboard until the ud3r. And LGA1366, lets face it, isn't for everyone. Certainly wasn't the right decision for me.
So now we correct it:
- Proposed Motherboard:
Gigabyte z77x-UP5 TH

Wait hold on... didn't I just say I wasn't going to get non enthusiast boards? Well, I did a bit of reserach the other week. After having an *cough* heart to heart with Sin, and watching both his reviews, I thought, this was the board to get. World record breaker, on board bluetooth and wifi, debug LEDs, good set of improved software by gigabyte, Lucid Virtu, the new intel software, and PCI-E 3.0 (for high end gpus) and Tbolt. Sounds high end to me! WIsh it had some ROG features like RC poster, but ahh well.
- processor:
i5 3570k
WAIT HOLD ON SPYKERV.. what is this. Why would you get this TIM based, high density 22nm chip. Don't you know a 2500k will work better for you?
Well my friends, I'll get to that later.
- Ram:
Samsung 30nm 8gb DDR3 LoVos
It's true I already have some Gskill Ram sitting around from my parents comp. But this is to start off right, now yet again with parts not for my needs. I'm not say9ing the gskills can't clock, they probably can and do quite well, its just not AS good as the Samsung sticks.

- Sleeved Fan cables, Koutech USB 3.0 Header adapter, and NZXT 140mm 90cfm Fans:
Improves looks and airflow of case

I like single braid for the small stuff, like 3 or 4 wires, and I've used OK gear's extension cables before.
Chime in and let me know about any opinions of phase one. Phase two commences after this week, and ends by Christmas I belive. The final round is next year.
So sit back, and let me know of what you think! I still need to find case grommets that may cover and fit in my Lian Li. I wonder if the Corsair ones would fit :/
I'm still waiting on my motherboard
It's stuck in Louisville, KY. Wonder if Phil has anything to do with that

What do we have here?

Just like I promised!

Pictures of me taking apart my old computer, which now belongs to user frederickv. I knew yee well old computer, I knew yee well.

And now, we wait.
Wait is over for right now. Uploading the movie in a bit.

Bam ^ go there for video updates, or stay here for picture updates and discussions.
What to discuss for future updates:
Since youtube is refusing to upload my long rant, I guess I'll discuss everything here.
1. Wanna change the PSU to a corsair 1200i
2. Looking into an mSATA 256gb SSD
3. The Nixues SIPS 1440p screen
4. Selling my Dell u2311h for a BENQ 3D monitor
5. Selling my 6970s for an Nvidia gtx 880 when it releases
6. Changing my mouse for a Razer Naga Hex
- Change the front panel for a CM ATSC 840 panel, or change the flush power button for a Vandal Switch
- Rubber grommets
- PSU bay cover
- Acrylic window or side panel, with Lian Li's symbol etched in
- Wire Management panel
It's far off so I'm still deciding. I want sub ambient to use the full potential of my motherboard. Don't know what to choose really. We have many months to go, so we can discuss this in great detail.
