Im purchasing a new motherboard with Creative SoundCore 3D quad-core that supports up to 250 Ohm headsets. Which would be a good headset to use with this? Budget $100-250. Thanks.

I mostly play FPShooters. I just game for fun, but I'm very competative

I would probably want a closed-back for better sound isolation. But again I have never tried a good open back. Im not sure I'm willing to compromise the deep lows of a closed-back though. So 80% sure for closed.

What are the advantages of a higher impedance? I know they need more power to run, but I've read a lower impedance high quality headset can sound just as good.

higher impedance means that is has higher resistance to electrical current that is passing through it, it resists the clean audio signal and noises/distortion, that why you need a powerful amp, so that you can push more clean audio signal, this way the headphone will produce a cleaner audio because it resisted noises

that grammar was all kinds of crazy. You were right, but let me restate it so people can actually understand:

The higher impedance adds electrical resistance. This means that in order to achieve the same volume levels, you need to pump considerably more power into it. This is bad for portable players and low powered amps, as it results in weak sound, but if you have an amp that can properly drive it, its a good thing. Why? Because that resistance filters out all the noise that you don't want to hear (static and distortions).
